With continual progress in integrated circuit processing, operating speeds and new technologies are emerging. The accurate high frequency analysis is needed to design the high performance system. This paper derives general multiport interconnect constraints and presents a new approach -- Wave Spreading Evaluation (WSE) which uses S-parameters based network techniques to analyze coupled, multiconductor, high speed analog and digital integrated circuit interconnect systems. WSE is based on the spreading process of voltage waves, the input sources are transformed into initial spreading waves. The spreading process is independent of input sources, and every step of wave spreading meets the constraints of KCL and KVL, the convergence condition is always met for passives network. The continual spreading of voltage waves will create accurate results.
