Computer Science
The purpose of this research has been to determine how disk subsystems can support high speed I/O for large scale multiprocessors. A literature survey has identified many of the most important techniques for substantially improving disk performance. In addition we have designed (and analyzed through simulation) a software architecture that supports very high data rates. Our findings are summarized in this report.
